Uh oh, my dad bought me one like 2 weeks ago. It seemed to work pretty good in the store. And I'm going to be using it on t'blades.

I've used one in the past...actually I think I started the last thread on the SS.

I was happy with the results. I thought it put an edge back on my skates, but JR makes a compelling argument that it is actually bad...he's got graphs and charts and everything.

I guess the bottom line is, if you use it and wreck your steel it's your own fault... I actually haven't used mine since we had that discussion....Not to say I never will....but I guess JR scared me...

It works in an emergency, but it's not something you should use regularly. A normal stone should work well for day to day edge fixes.
