ONE90 vs Dolomite

Recommended Posts

im looking into getting a dolomite, im using a one90 now and i like how my slappers fly off the blade and i like the tactile grip. I have gift cards from christmas so im going to get a new stick with them and i hve read how every says the dolomite blades are tanks and they are a great stick even though it is old techonolgy. My main question is, is the kickpoint on the dolomite lower than the kick point on the one90. Im looking to get a little extra on my wrister and a faster release. People have said that a lower kick point gives you a quicker release? Is this true? Both stick are $180 USD at my LHS so i want to get one of these two sticks.

Also

i searched and read many topics on each stick i just want to know the answer to a few of my questions. I also read the reviews on each stick.

EDIT

The two piece dolomite is $30 cheeper at the LHS than the OPS one. I assume the performace is the same since the OPS on is really a fused 2 piece

I haven't used the One90, but I do have a 2 piece dolo and that is what I recommend. You'll more than likely break the blade before the shaft and you can replace that for $50. Performance is the same.

I switched from the dolomite to the one90.. and the sticks felt the same to me in respect to kickpoint. Both are great sticks IMO

I agree with sds the two-piece dolomite sounds like your best bet and no matter what you break first shaft or blade you have something left over to use. Also you don't have to go through the hassle of cutting the broken blade away from the shaft if it breaks first.

I believe the one90 is designed with a more traditional kickpoint towards the middle of the shaft giving the dolomite the lower kickpoint, as for a lower kickpoint giving a quicker release, I think that is something only you can control, the low kickpoint was designed for shot control and accuracy. Anyone please correct me if i'm wrong

go with dolo 2 piece if you are looking for a lower kickpoint, i have played with both ops and two piece dolos hard to tell the difference

The only noticeable difference between a Dolo OPS and shaft version is that the OPS will be slightly more balanced. However, I agree with other members that the shaft version is the way to go.

FOr what it's worth, I feel like higher kickpoint sticks give me a noticeably slower release. For that reason, out of the two I'd go with the dolomite.

sure enough i go to the LHS and guess what Dolos and ONE90s in every curve and flex except the ones i use. So now im waiting until the 2008 warrior gear comes out. I got a one 90 and a ak27 now so im not complaining. I was just looking to try something new.

Also TPS has picked up around me, not one tps stick in the TPS section

I switched from a Dolomite to a ONE90, I really liked the Dolomite it had a really good feel to it but I kept breaking them. I personally prefer the ONE90 though, I like the mid-kick point and the tactile grip, and I've only broke one of them, I'm still using my warranty one.
