Mission Skate Bake Oven

Recommended Posts

My local Play It Again sports has this oven in their store. They don't charge for baking which is incredible, but seeing as how I live in Florida, the guy said he never really has done ice...just inlines in it. He didn't even know what temperature it heated to. Anyone recognize this oven? Also the bottom is a metal tray, what can I put on it during the process to ensure my blades don't get all knicked up. How long should I put my Ultra G5's in it? Any info is appreciated...I recognized it as a convection oven because of the fan in the back so I know that's what it is.

That's the same one everyone around here has. Pretty much every time I've seen it used, they just set the skates in there for 7 minutes or so, nothing fancy.

yeah, the 2 shops i've worked in have both had that same oven.

just put soakers on your blades if you're concerned about them getting nicked up. setting them in softly would be adequate too.

I know this is an old thread but yes you can bake your skates at home. There are several instructional videos on youtube. I am actually in the market for a skate bake oven. I will start a new wanted thread.

Time and temp depends on the skate

I don't know for a fact but I gotta agree w/ Chadd. Unless every skate brand and model is using the same type and amount of heat reactive materials/adhesives, it doesn't seem logical that all skates are ideally baked at exactly the same time and temp.

Unless, the difference in materials/adhesives is minimal and I just think they have to be different due to the marketing and my own assumptions.

Who knows, maybe skates are like frozen pizzas. Sure, they all have different recommended times and temps but I've never been let down by the good ol' 350F until golden brown and delicious.

Only problem is if you happen to wreck a pizza, it's like 5 bucks down the drain intstead of 300-600ish.
