I used to try and get really pumped up before games. Like when I was younger I would watch hockey highlight videos the night before and things like listening to loud fast paced music on the way to the rink etc. But now I find that I do better when I'm just calm and not getting too worked up for a game. I just try to get a good nights rest the night before and try to eat a good meal sometime in the day... no greasy junk food ;) . Once I get to the rink I just relax talk to my teammates and just have a good time.

Get to the rink about 1.5 hours before the game. Get straight into my sweats and sandals and get my street clothes / mobile phone / anything else I've got with me put away then I'm in hockey mode. Put in a nice big pinch of chew, and sit quietly reading the match programme, and other teams teamsheet and drink a powerade / lucozade. Then I get my kit on, dont talk much before or during the game, other than about the game itself. Go out for warm up, come back in the room while they cut the ice, clean my visor, adjust any kit that needs it, and then I'm set.

I eat a bowl of raw oatmeal. Oh wait, sorry, that's Peter Forsberg.

I usually try to make sure that my body cannot possibly auto-expel any fluids or substances if I get decked, meaning that if I need to take a dump, I take a dump, and if I need to pee, I go pee. Otherwise, I put on my gear on and double check that I didn't forget my jock. ;)

Am I the only one who doesn't take a dump before the game? Pooping seems to be a popular vote.

We have a bar in our rink, and I can often be found there hanging out for the hell of it. To me, it's just another day. Like getting up for school every morning.

Shoot ball and stickhandle (at home)

Check equipment (at home)

Tape stick (at home)

On way to rink listen to my Pre-Game playlist on Ipod

Get to rink 60-75 mins before game time

Take piss

Get dressed barly talk

Visualize while gettting dressed (imagine game situations, possible dangles I can try depending on how the d-man is positioned)

Go average speed in the warm up, while doing multiple toe drags and dangles and hand warm ups to get my hands warm. While scoping out the other teams goalie(s)

Dumping is of utmost importance. There's no worse feeling that being on the ice or the bench knowing that you have to take a crap. The thought of possibly soiling my equipment really does the trick...
