Easton Stealth S15 shaft

Couldn't they make the tenon, for use in a future S17 shaft, elliptical too?

thats what i was thinking as well, but as someone else mentioned the transition from box to elliptical would have to be very gradual or it would be very weak at that spot. and again they would only have their blades work in them until/if other companies followed suit

SE is listed as 70 flex on the GreatSkate site, is that Senior? I know it's on the senior page, but they may have lumped the int. with it since they only have one listing for the shaft.

I wonder if the SE shaft is going to have the same shaft as the SE OPS. The Syn2 was no the SL/SE shaft with the traditional shape and bumpy finish that I really like.

I can see a big problem with that, the blade would try to turn in the shaft. possibly breaking it, ever time you shot.

if you made it oval enough i think it could work but theres too many if's. I also read someone saying they should make the whole shaft round but i think the oval shape would take away from your control. its not noticeable but the box shape actually acts as a lever everytime u twist ur wrists, when u dont have a death grip on it. its been done tho, i remember a friend of mine had an old eurpean ops that was all oval, i donno i couldn't see myself using it.

If both the shaft and the blade tenon were eliptical then the shape of the tenon would prevent it from turning in the shaft. After all, the elipse Easton uses is oval shaped not circular.

Yeah I know its not circular thats why I think the shaft will break from that. Its going to try to turn, in a rectangular shaft there is a flat side there pushing against it so the whole thing might end up twisting instead "torsion" or what have you, but with an ellipse I see a bigger chance of it turning than twisting.

It'd be a simple thing for their R&D guys to find out, vitamin has a good point it wouldnt twist but it would want to and the 90 degree corner all 4 sides take the load. it'd be interesting to see the stresses it would go through when force is applied to different parts of the blade

Actually that problem could easily be taken away by means of a keyway, either one or 2, but theats not as easiy to manufacture
