One90 skate fitting

Recommended Posts

Hey guys this is my first post and I have a question about the one90 skate. I have Vapor XXX's currently size 11 D. And I have a skinny foot almost too skinny for a D and the skate doesn't hug my foot like I would like it to. I was wondering if the one90 would be better as it sounds like its a much tighter fit than the vapor series. I suppose another solution would be to get a custom fit skate, but I was hoping to avoid that. Thanks!

I guess what I want to know is if the One90 width and XXX width are the same. Has anyone owned both skates before and have anything to say about the differences between them?

Width is not the issue...the boot is very different. I wore XXXs and now wear XXXXs. I tried to go with One90s, but the boot was just too painful right below the ankle.

I guess the best thing is to just try them on and see how they feel :D ! Also, does anyone know why they recommend going a half size down from your regular skate size. Do vapor XXXX's fit the same way?

Do you have a narrow foot? Did you find your XXX's a bit too wide? I heard that the Reebok skates D width is narrower than the nike bauer D width but I have yet to find a chart to prove this.

There's no chart. RBK skates fit very different and NBH made the Vapor and One90 differently so that they can get more people in their skates.

You need to try on any pair of skates before you buy them, unless you're just replacing your old pair with another of the same.

You want to know what skates to look at when you go skate shopping? You're set on the top of the line, so you just need to jump into about 5 pairs to see what fits best. If your LHS is worth anything they will spend time and help you get the best fit and have knowledge on how the skates fit.

Everyone on this board has different feet. Unless you get OldTrainerGuy, JR or someone else who really knows what they're talking about you're getting skewed or second hand information.

We have no idea if you have foot problems or disfigurements that the One90 may cause great pain due to.

It shouldn't matter if one skate says go down 1/2 size or anything, if you get a proper fitting skate.

The should be a skate that fits you that isn't custom, between Mission, Kor, Graf, RBK, CCM, Easton and Bauer there are 12 or more different top-end skates that all fit different foot types. Find one that works for you, regardless of the logo on the side.

If you are set on buying skates online, even JR or OTG's best advice can't get you fitted perfectly. There's no substitute for going to a store and basically going thru what Rustpot outlined.

I've found that NBH skates, starting with the new Supreme line (One90, 70, etc) runs longer than previous lines. This is also true with the newer Vapors (XXXX, XXV, etc)

Just go in and try them on. I've worn the same size 9.0D in XX, XXX and now One90s. The only way to know is go to your LHS.

That is incorrect. The RBK D width boot is wider than Bauer. I just jumped from a One90 EE width to the RBK 9K E width, which is pretty much the same as the One90 EE.

I've got narrow feet and currently have Graf 735's with TBlades in a 9N. I just bot some one90s in 8.5C. So I would say try on a pair of one90s in C width, D width is gonna be too wide for you. I've post up a boot fit comparison between Graf 735 in 9N vs one90 in 8.5C once I get log more icetime in the one90s.

Last bit of advice:

If you're gonna be trying on skates and have a narrow foot my advice is to only consider those that come in a Narrow or C width.
