Pro Stock Vapor XXX/One90's

Hey guys Eastwesthockey.com just got in over 600 Bauer Pro Stocks. They are offering them for great prices too, especially if you buy in 2 or 3 packs. I just bought 3 Sharp XXXlites for under 280 shipped. If you haven't boughten from these guys before they are awesome, this is probably the 10th time I've ordered from these guys and they have always given me breaks on big orders and Jason even hooked me up when my stick broke prematurely. They haven't posted pictures of all the new stuff yet but they are great about helping over the phone. I'll post pictures of my sticks when they come in.

A lot of the guys on here use sub 100 flex sticks/shafts, including myself therefore buying a pro stock just isn't feasible because of how stiff they are on average.

Seems like most of theirs are around 100, +/- 5 or so flex. It would seem like this kind of inventory would get its own thread (Warrior, Mission) but this store never seems to carry the stock long enough to warrant a thread.

IIRC, The Samsonov is like a Warrior (correction:) Robitaille curve. Not sure of the lie.

Samsonov shoots right. They had some of his XXXX when I called. Its a big curve with extra toe I believe. They said it's a low lie, 4-5.

I've seen his sticks with a retail modano clone and a toe curve, but the one I've seen most is a big mid-heel that is fairly open. I think the lie was around a 5. I probably still have a blade from a broken Response.

That's also the 05 model...you can get the 07, with slightly less durability issues, for 20 bucks more from hockeygiant...with the code i mentioned above. Also with hockeymonkey, you never know what is going to arrive in the mail, and they take forever to ship sometimes.

I like your style. I might just do that as long as I can avoide the v10 / dolomite temptation. Which I really should since I've never used a whip flex before.

Good time to get that replacement pair of shin pads or something on top of the stick. Also the 77 flex isn't as whippy as you think, but does break in nicely. I was using a 2005 Vapor XXX (blue/red graphics) in 77 flex. After a few stick and pucks and non stop shooting, it broke in really nicely and wasn't too stiff anymore. Upon just putting pressure on the shaft in the locker room on the floor, it feels a little stiff. They give though, a lot. I'd recommend giving it a shot.

May as well I suppose, if I don't like it then it's not like I just broke bank on an s17. I considered the v10 a lot cause I know the 77 flex is also the perfect size for me without having to cut it. I hate cutting sticks =P

Anyone know what graphics the 07 from hockeygiant has? Not that it could really change my decision, but I'd hate to have three bright pink x's on my stick

Thanks. That damn point where shipping becomes free always tempts me for the more expensive sticks I considered like the dolo and v10. Sly bastards at hg.

I need to suck it up and just get the xxx-Lite I think. It felt good in my hands when I picked it up at the lhs, so that should be enough I suppose.

If they have the flex and curve you want, plus it felt all right to you, go for it. Dolos are known to be tanks though and the XXX Lites....not so much.

That's exactly what I'm worried about. I've used the same Synergy ST for over 15 months playing 2-3 times a week, and I love the front of the net. The chips in the stick from slashes (given and received) show hints that I'll bust up the xxx-lite pretty quickly.

It's a tough choice.

That sounds like the XXX Lite isn't for you then. The ST is a tank in a class of its own but Dolos have held up almost as well in my experience and I'm more along the lines of your style of play than a perimeter player. I would take a closer look at HM's pro Dolos and a tapered blade to match.

I definitely like to try and play the perimeter to get a shot off, but I crash the net hard. With a pro dolo though I'd have a difficult time finding a whip flex. Of course, I'm assuming that I'll like it. (I'm 5'10" 155ish tops). I'd like to add some weight by the end of the summer so when I try for a college club team, I don't get my head removed by Derek Boogard. An 85 would be fine too I'm sure. Research time.

HockeyMonkey still has some Dolo pro returns around 85 flex so you can try those if you'd like. Well, assuming you like grip because otherwise you're out of luck.
