tapered or standard shafts

Recommended Posts

You get a quicker release with tapered, because the flex point is lower, thus taking less time to "load up." You'll get a harder shot with with a standard, because the puck is on the blade longer.

If you can, try both, on top of the physics, there's a lot of personal preference with feel, etc.

I don't know if it would necesarilly give you a harder shot persay, just preference and getting used to. True it may be a longer pendulum thus longer swing rate as you said but it's also a slower kick to it. But yeah if you can def try both

Using a taper shaft compared to a standard shaft feels alot different. At first you wont notice the difference but if you go back from taper to standard, you will definitely notice a dramatic change. Taper>standard

I have been researching this topic for weeks and the xxx's seem to be the most abundent... you can find synthesis blades if you look hard and obviously christian if you go factory direct...

I thought picking a pattern and model that was widely available and reasonable to aquire was a good move
