Superfeet or Shockdoctor

Which is to say, fit the footbed to your arch, NOT the length of your skate.

Fit to your heel first. Your heel should be slightly spilling over the sides of the corrective insert. The boot will wrap the sides of the superfeet up. When your heel is correctly supported, so is the rest of your arch.

For flat footed people, if a gray does not compress and break in enough. a Black superfeet would work.

The one thing with super feet is they recommend a 8-10 hour break in time for all their foot beds. Keep this in mind. This could be 7-9 skates.

for sizing of superfeet, i always go up 1 size, so me for example, wear a size 8 skate, however i dont use the D (size 7-8) superfeet. I go with the E (size 9-10) superfeet because it fits my heel better.

TBL the greys are wide enough for the vapor XXXX. For a size 10.5D i would go with the size F (size 11-12) and trim it down.

Bane, what size are you mission ag's? i got my dad a pair of 9.5E 100 AG's and the E superfeet fit the best

I am using 9EE 100AG's.

One little tip:

If you find that your arch is too long or high for the Superfeet that should fit your skate in length, buy a full size or two up and trim back.

Which is to say, fit the footbed to your arch, NOT the length of your skate.

The only problem you'll encounter with this is that the heel of the footbed may not fit into the heel of the skate.

I probably should be wearing F-size Superfeet, even though going by the labels I should be in a D. I settled for an E to fit the heel in the skate.

on superfeet, the 7-8 isnt the size of your skates its the arch length. so like you said you should always ahve your arch measured. the biggest thing is to make sure the heel fits in the insole right. the support start there.

How would I go about having my arch measured?

For whatever it worse, not sure if you knew, grey Superfeet also were intended to use for road cycling. I tried them in my skates and my road shoes.

Thank God for the 30 days or 60 days no questions asked return policy. Even if you used them, cut them, etc.

My feet never adjusted.

All feet are different, and mine actually preferred the good old grey ShockDoctors. Just to compare, in my ski boots, I had gone through three orthotics, before settling on one. ShockDoctor through its simplicity just worked better for me. I did add a small peace of wrapping foam under each arch. The foam in rolls can be found at a moving supply stores. Also shockdoctors seem to keep the heat better. I did not have to put aluminum foil under them at all.

These are my 25 cents for whatever it counts.

yeah, skates and cycling shoes, they worry about the cycling stuff in the bike store of my LHS

and i have run into some people who just do not like them. if youre feet are very very flat, they are going to take longer to adjust to, and just may not work

to each his own, marks for trying though

If I recall Superfeet are sized to "normal" shoe sizes, not hockey skate sizes. Hence why you need to go a size up.

from my experience, if you go by the skate size on the box the length is correct, say a size D (7-8) superfeet for a size 8 skate

however the size of the heel cup usually isnt big enough to properly hold the persons heel, which is why i go up a size

as long as you dont have a rediculously flat foot, yes it is, helps with alignment, reduces pronation and supination

if you have too flat a foot, it will be very uncomfortable for a while, but that 60 day guarantee is a very nice feature if you want to give them a shot

for the same price i'd look at the graf insteps.

they feel a lot more solid than the superfeet. but that could be with different foot types.

the shock doctor hockey footbeds weren't bad but they did go soft overtime.

Size E Superfeet Grey fit very well in my size 9.0D one90's. Very little trimming was needed. FWIW - I wear a size 11.0D shoe (US).

I got them in an attempt to relieve my sesamoiditis. I found that they take up a fair amount more volume than the stock insoles. I had my skates re-baked with Superfeet and now they fit like a dream again and my sesamoiditis has been drastically reduced.

It's going ok...I had my left foot done in late August of last year and I'm about 85% healed on that one, just a little pain in the arch and wear they put the MBA implant in. I had the right foot done on 1/25 of this year and after 6 weeks of crutches I am now in a walking boot. I start PT tomorrow and will be out of the boot next week and have 5 more weeks of PT and hope to be back on the ice by June. I cannot wait....I haven't played in about 8 months.

I've tried both Shock Doctor and Superfeet and to me the Superfeet make a world of difference. Shock Doctors are very comfortable but I notice a difference in my skating when I use the Superfeet. I am much mores stable and have better balance. The solid heel piece on the back of the Superfeet and built in arch align my ankle much better than with the stock skate insole or with the spongier Shock Doctor insole. When I'm teetoring on the edge of balance when manoevering on the ice I'm staying up a majority of the time now as opposed to ending up all over the ice like before I used them. I was just angling off a forward into the corner just the other day and while spinning around almost 360 degrees and moving toward the end boards on one foot managed to hold my balance. Any other time I would have undoubtedly gone down. The forward by the way did go down because he couldn't react quick enough to counter my movements so I came up with the puck for a quick transition play.

Just so everyone knows, Superfeet's 60-day guarantee still applies even if you've cut the insoles down. The company will take them back; the shop may not think so, but just get them to read the fine print.

Also, does anyone know what size Superfeet would fit in a Bauer Vapor XXXX 9.5D skate?

I wear Vapor XXV in a 9.5D with Superfeet Grey 'F'. They fit perfectly inside. I only had to do some minor trimming at the toe end of the inserts.

if you have a larger heel you will need a size F. If you have a LHS that you are getting them from, the sales person should fit the superfeet to your foot, particularly to make sure the heel cup fits properly.if you have to do it yourself, just put the insole under your foot, and see if your heel is spilling over the side of it heel cup. if not, perfect!

I think my heel is pretty narrow, so I should be good. Thanks guys!
