BobMcRobertson 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2008 I know they were previously known as the Flexlite 8 right? I searched and found a lot on the Flexlite 18's but could not find anything about the 16. Where do they fall on the quality scale? What other brands and models can they be compared to? Thanks in advance.......
Ogie Oglethorpe 14 Report post Posted February 25, 2008 It was discussed in one of the F18 threads. It is a low level entry-line skate. If you are a "person of size" I believe that the general concensus (sp?) was that it might be prone to breakdown quickly. If I had to guess (just an educated guess mind you), I'd say this would likely be along the Mission S200, Bauer3000, CCM 400 range of skate. However, due to the materials used, I'm not sure it's quite as durable.Again, just my take. I've only held the F8 once before and that was years ago. Take it into consideration accordingly (although.... I did stay at a Motel 6 last night so....)
Law Goalie 147 Report post Posted February 25, 2008 Not worth it. Get the Flexlite 18 - it's only a little more money for a vastly superior skate. 18 is the new version of the old 10; 16 is the new 9. There are threads comparing the Flexlite 10 and 9, and always vastly in favour of the 10 - in fact, the 10 is sometimes preferred to the 12.

Rustpot 1 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Question about the Flexlite fit-Found a great deal on some 18's, they're 11.5EE. I'm currently in Vectors in size 11.5E and the heel is a good width, but the volume is too low, the arch too high and the forefoot (just before the toes) too narrow. From reading on here the Flexlite is going to be a good bet for a lower arch, wide forefoot, high volume skate. Is the EE going to be far too wide? My LHS doesn't stock Flexlites or skates that will fit me, so I have to gamble somewhat. I'm worried I won't get a heel lock.I can get the 16's in 11.5D, or the 18's in 11.5EE, both for $100.I am a big guy, and the 16's sound like they won't be a good investment, but if they fit better then they're going to be the better choice so that I can actually skate without pain.Edit- No return fee, I'm ordering the 18's first thing in the morning I think. schrempsky 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 i have found that for all the depth and width the flexlite gives you, it still provides a tight heel, and i find the vector heel massiveso id imagine that you should be good to go with those
Tailboard Jockey 25 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 No return fee, I'm ordering the 18's first thing in the morning I think.$100? That's a killer deal, and you have nothing to lose. I love my Flexlite 12's.

epstud74 24 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 I've got a pair of Nike Flexlite 9s. I bought two pair awhile back and I think they're underrated honestly. I'm 235lbs and I never really felt I was lacking support in the skate. They are very comfortable out of the box. Sure they dont come with a LightSpeed2 holder, but the Custom Plus instead. I'm not sure where all the negativity is regarding these skates.. I guess from people who need to validate their $599 skate purchases?
