Helmet ear covers

Andreas Lilja has them last I saw.

There is talk of making them mandatory, but there is no rule in the NHL on grandfathering them in.

If I was trying to look like my childhood idol I'd have blue holders on my 301s, with an aluminum stick and have 3" extensions on my cuff. But oddly enough, I'd just look like Ryan Smyth.

haha he still heats and bends his blades.

No mouthguard, no neckguard, no ear covers, but I rock everything else including cage. It's a tradeoff because like somebody mentioned, I value comfort and breathability (literally).

I still say the most insane thing is to play sans shoulder pads, but just my opinion.

while thats pretty dumb I have to say playing without elbow pads is prolly the most retarded thing i've seen.

We have a guy in his mid 50s come in and play pickup with just the shins, helemt, and gloves. Well, old full metal holder skates, too. Sometimes he wears a tie. Drives a nice car and all. I can't figure out for the life of me why he does that.

We had a guy who'd play in shorts and no shins back in Hong Kong :(

I hate that because it means I have to be far more careful. I shouldn't have to worry about easing off pressure on someone because they're missing pieces of equipment! Especially that low down... cages I understand.

Ahhh, forgot about that one. Yes, definitely takes the cake. Even dumber is announcing it on the ice, as this one dumbass did in my beer league.
