MR.Bobby.Orr 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 Generally, I HATE, LOATH and DISPISE ESPN, but unfortunatly I still catch a few minutes once in a while. When I saw that the 1980 team had a chance to win this "greatest highlight" I began to pay attention. I am so happy and so surprised Mike Eurzione's goal won best highlight. It just shows how much potential hockey has in this country, that even the dense retarded audience that ESPN has, still voted this as the best sports highlight/moment in sports.I tend not to trust the ESPN audience because more people would rather watch cars go in circles for three hours than watch hockey. I don't trust that kind of judgement. If I want to get drunk and watch cars pass by me, I can go sit on the side of the highway with a 12 pack.
trevor13478 1 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 i think that it is absolutely rediculouse that they are now trying to compare The Miracle On Ice to david tyree's superbowl catch. Sportscenter just said that since tryee's catch happened after the tournament started so they are having a poll to see which is the better highlight. Yes, it took great athleticism for that catch to be made, and yes it impacted the outcome of that game. But Eurzione's goal and the outcome of that game impacted an entire country and changed the sport. I think that this comparison is disgraceful.

The summit series might have had a legitimate argument, but--- I don't think ESPN was around in 1972. Also, ESPN doesn't exist in Canada. You're damn skippy about TSN though.
