If the Predators went to the SE division they would have to realign both Conferences which could be an idea but there is just three too many teams on the East that are in the West...Columbus, Nashville, and Detroit, who would move out the East lol. Which would bring up another point that would be argued....scheduling....and how these teams get screwed by playing teams always in different time zones many of them by 2 hours or more if I'm not mistaken?

No one would move East. The reason for the discerepency is that more teams are located towards the eastern "half" of the country than the west. If they're going to keep it geographical (which I know they will) it has to be this way.

That was based on the Penguins financial/arena issues and them moving to the west. Minnesota and Dallas have the worst problems in terms of travel for their division opponents. At least Chicago, Nashville, St Louis, Detroit and Columbus are all relatively short flights. Dallas is in a division with San Jose, Phoenix, LA and the Ducks. Meanwhile Minnesota has; Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Colorado.

Had the Pens moved to Vegas, they could have moved the Pens into the Pacific and Dallas to the Central. A move for the Pens to Portland or Seattle could have resulted in the Wild moving to the central, bringing back some history to the division.

In any case, that's all out the window now that the Pens have a new building on the way in Pittsburgh. Without relocation or expansion there is no way any teams are moving.
