do black TUUK LS2's exist?

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't recommend black custom+ holders....I went through 2 pairs in about 3 months because they got cracked (and one of them shattered) from taking shots to them.

Correct. Whatever black Custom+ holders you will find will be old stock. Once they start to get old they become brittle and will crack easier. I'm not saying that you should avoid them like the plague, just be aware of the potential for cracking when making your decision.

In regards to the pros that are using them, we have no idea how often they have to be replaced by the equipment guys. It's not like they have a press release whenever some repair work is done. It happens a lot more than you'd think. And with the way that pro players get all kinds of custom equipment, who's to say that NBH isn't still producing enough to meet the demand for the NHL only?

NBH still has C+ black in stock. You just have to call them.

Is it old stock or are they still turning out a few here and there because of the pro demand?

Not exactly sure. I haven't ordered them, but a while back I was talking to one of the CSRs (she's cool, she's also the one I deal with on my custom orders) and she said that there was stock. It's just not in the cat or NBHBiz anymore.

One of the Linda's or Mary Ellen? They are the only ones that I ever talk to. I guess the only way to know is to order a pair and look at the date stamp that is on them.

Dorothy. They're all cool. Linda 1 is my acct CSR.

Oops, forgot about her. I've worked with her plenty of times too. It's been nice calling throughout the years and talking to a familar voice.

Anyone know if using RIT dye to dye them weakens them?

I'm sure it does. I've done it but haven't skated on them yet. You have to boil water+dye which is at a high temp and then but the holders in

to what degree it weakens them? probably no one really knows unless you are in the plastics industry. The holder doesn't melt or anything though. But to get the holder really black i had to repeat the process a few times which probably 'weakened' them even more

Put it this way: I'd never do it to a goalie cowling, EVER, and a lacrosse head is not a weight-bearing suspension that balances a strip of metal.

it's sounding like i should just stick with the custom+ holders based on the comments above. if anything, i wish they were a bit taller, but i'm definitely comfortable on them, so i'll probably start there

Then why don't you just go with the C+ and install 3mm lifts front and back. You would have C+ feel and pitch, with LS2 height. If you wanted a slightly fwd lean go with 3mm lifts in back and 2mm lifts in front.
