Should Downey have fought?

What do you guys think? Should Downey have fought or was it pointless? I kinda thought that's why he went out, to avenge the cheap hit in the neutral zone.

well he probably didnt cause he had three guys going after him...

but idk i was at the game so i didnt get to see a good replay of the hit. was it dirty?

I thought it was def. unnecessary. He got him in the face with the stick on the crosscheck when the puck was about 50 ft away from the guy (can't remember the name of the guy who got checked). Idk I wanted to see a little more retribution on the part of the Wings. Although, maybe winning 4-1 is revenge enough.

The hit was completely dirty. Downey was smart not to fight, they still have a couple of games left against each other and I'm sure he will have a heart to heart talk with a few of the Blues.

At that point, I think Downey did the right thing. The Blues were looking to send a message for next game and since they gave him the option, being up 4-1 the Red Wings had nothing more to prove last night so he didn't give the Blues anything to feed off of for their next meeting.

If he had only one player going after him he should of dropped the glvoes to stand up for himself, but there was three guys chasing him up the ice. hopefully he will fight Dj King in the next game vs the Blues.
