cxo 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2008 http://www.computing.net/windowsvista/wwwb.../forum/123.htmlThere's some okay information there if you're willing to read through the responses. Basically what I gathered is that you're going to have to back up all the files you want before the figurative downgrade.
Krev 86 Report post Posted March 8, 2008 Yeah, essentially put all the files you want to save on a removable usb drive that is large enough, or a removable harddrive/storage device. You'll then have to just wipe it and start over. Thats the painless way of doing it that has worked for me in the past with a few computers that were both mine and a couple of my buddies. BigDipper 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2008 Don;t mean to chirp in fellas. My buddies Dad works for an software company out of Ottawa, Ontario that just landed a sub-contract with IBM. The sole purpose of it is to switch customer returned units back to XP due to the massive complaints. He told me that it's unreal how many PC's and laptops are coming in to get changed back. DEATHTRON 19 Report post Posted March 10, 2008 Anyone care to explain what the deal is to me? I have both, my personal machine has Vista, my work computers all have XP. I enjoy Vista more now than XP, however I know xp like the back of my hand...but still, I like to think that people who are using Vista for the first time dont even want to give it a try (much like I did the first time I used it). What exactly is the problem everyone is having with Vista?Zach
