Pros and Cons of stiffer composite blade

Recommended Posts

There are no cons to a stiffer blade.. Torque is bad. It's more a case of how any given blade wants to handle vibration.

I find that stiffer blades have less feel in most cases.

I've actually felt that feel has gotten better using a composite blade, although stiffer, unlike wood, it doesnt dampen feel IMO anyway.

I guess the only con would be cost over wood, but even that isn't that much of an issue.

Those original inno pro stock blades were a good example of a blade that is stiff as hell but can accept a pass. It's the ones tha are too thin and super stiff in my view that tend to have the poor feel.

This is exactly like my Response Lite Pro Stock. It has a paper thin, stiff blade and the feel isn't the best. Stick shoots great though. Typically I like a really stiff blade as the blade doesn't open up on hard shots. However, the foam and such that is inside the blade matters alot. Examples of stiff blades that have great feel are the Warrior high end sticks and the NBH XXX and XXXX.
