ever think about using acrylic black paint? or fabric paint?

I'd use edge cleaner. Find it in a shoe repair shop.

I dyed my 1B mitt with that.

Actually looks a lot better than I expected. Tempting now, I'd like to black out everything on my 4-Rolls minus the Nike/Bauer logo.
