Xi Retlah iX 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 OK so i've searched n searched to no avail. For the past month or so, i had my next skate narrowed down to either The Boss or the Cobalt Q, but then i took a look at the RBK line, and it seems half decent this year. Anyone have any insight on them?

Two of my teammates say the same thing, otherwise I wouldn't mention it much.Pain aside, it's a good skate, but I can't say anything about their new lines. Personally, I have been skating in RBK for years, and they do NOT hurt like hell....they fit my feet properly, and THUS are a great skate.
sdcopp 1 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 I tried the 7K's on a couple weeks back to get a feel for them. Not a bad feel for my Mission wearing foot, stiffness was on par with the competing Assassin models. The boot is fine as long as the pump works, though there have been tales of pumps breaking and pump components digging into people's feet on last yrs models. The big kicker with RBK skates is other than the 9K, the chassis on them is absolute garbage with more stripped axles than you can shake a stick at. The chassis on the 9K is likely ok, just pray you don't ever have to contact customer service for them either, as there about as useful as tits on a bull. I'm in 3 pairs of Rbk's - ice, inline league, and outdoor beaters, and they're the only skates that don't hurt like hell for me. I can't speak to the frames, as I use Sprungs, but I haven't had any issues with the pump yet.

I have some RBK inlines and they dont hurt my feet... To the OP, dont go for looks, go for fit. whatever fits you the best you should use. Of course there's the chassis and everything but they can be switched out if you really have a problem with them

Personally, I have been skating in RBK for years, and they do NOT hurt like hell....they fit my feet properly, and THUS are a great skate. I ordered them online but I tried them on first at a LHS (I know, shame on me), and they fit just fine, still do. I started to have problems with lace bite and pressure points that I did not notice at first. It's a bias opinion if you consider the fact that every living person is different than the next, but I wouldn't mention it if I didn't know other people who say they hurt just as much as I say it. They obviously don't hurt everyone, you got to try on each skate to find the best fit, this is common sense. Was just giving my 2 cents on how myself, and two teammates feel. I've worn many different skates in Bauer, Easton, Mission, CCM, and RBK. These are the only ones that hurt me, in my unbias opinion.
phantomowner27 20 Report post Posted March 21, 2008 Been using the 9k's for a couple months now. Extremely comfortable and responsive. No problems thus far. I was also a fan of the old 8k's that I still use for reffing.
