Cleaning a stick

I have a Response which has grip on it caused by applying tape backwards, but i want to get it off. Is there any way to clean it off. I tried rubbing alcohol and a rag, but got nothing.

I recently used Goo Gone on my stick for the same problem and it worked really well. I tried rubbing alcohol like you with absolutely no luck, but the Goo Gone worked like a charm.

Gas cleans off everything, but then your stick would smell like gas so i sugjest goo gone. :D

I did it to my response shaft and then used a rag with hot water on it and it seemed to get all of it off

for my syn grip (grip peeled off on me), i just just my finger nails and fingers to rub it off. pretty time consuming, but works. for my woodies, i just used a penny and scraped it off

I just heated my stick up in the gripped spots and it rubbed off after.

When I tried to clean my Response with nail polish remover, the logos came off.
