Women's College Hockey

I think the NCAA championship is today--in fact probably going on right now. Anybody have a radio or TV report? My computer doesn't stream audio so I can't listen to any of the web-casts. Either Duluth or Madison is going to win their 3rd championship in 8 years. Pretty impressive women on both sides of the puck today. If you've ever watched some of the top teams play, I think you'd agree they deserve better coverage than they're getting.

Men's hockey is struggling for coverage as it is in the States, I don't see the women getting any special coverage soon. The championships are fun to watch though, I've been to a few and couldn't go this year because of money/time restraints.

Minnesota-Duluth will be my guess for the champs, they're pretty much solid year in and year out, even without the dream team they had with Rooth a few years back. Glad to see Vaillancourt win the Kazmaier this year as well.

@ Psh: Thanks for the link. USCHO.com does running coverage, but they're always late with scores. Good articles from time to time though.

OK. Apparently this is Duluth's 4th win in 8 years, not the third. And ESPN is now showing a final of 4-0.

Either way, I suspect the Badgers will be back soon. With Mark Johnson of the Miracle on Ice behind the bench, I can't see them ever being uncompetitive.

Signing off. Thanks for the updates.

Since 1997. Solid coach, excellent European recruiting, that still proves solid to the day (see: Kim Martin, Saara Tuominen) plus, since there's so few team's and so many of the top players are so young, they (and all the other D1 teams) get to recruit from a large pool of top players.
