Reminder: MSH Fantasy League Draft

Recommended Posts

Along our league's lines, anyone in pay leagues of some sort as well? I had my money league's draft yesterday and this is the outcome:

QB: Culpepper, Boller, Warner

RB: Rudi Johnson, Barber, McGahee, DeShaun Foster, O. Smith, Anthony Thomas

WR: R. Moss, S. Moss, K. Robinson, Reg. Williams, Booker, Lee Evans, Boldin

TE: Winslow, Clark

K: DEN, ATL

DEF: N.E., PIT

All the premier RBs were taken so I just stocked up at WR and pray for injuries/trades at RB or I can unload some of my WR depth later on the lines.

Mack, how many teams are in your other league? Looks like you have a good group of receivers.

I'm in two other pay leagues. Had one draft this weekend. Here's what I ended up with:

(10 team league)

QB: McNair, Carlson Palmer

RB: Portis, Q. Griffin, Kevin Jones, Curtis Martin

WR: Owens, Chad Johnson, Andre Johnson, Joey Galloway, Brandon Lloyd

TE: Randy McMichael

K: Janikowski

D: NE & Seattle

I'm a little nervous about my RBs, but overall I'm pretty happy with this draft.....

9 others; 10 total.

I went with WRs because at the #8 slot every worthy RB was gone, so I wanted at least one good position filled.

I drafted for a friend last week and had to go WR with the #10 pick because of the lack of sure things at RB. I was much more comfortable with Marvin Harrison than I would've been with Kevan Barlow (I wanted Moss, but my friend absolutely hates him). Wound up with Barber, Chris Brown, Lee Suggs, and Travis Minor at RB. Not great, but since there's a point per reception, Barber should be decent.

It's a 16 team league, so if two of those RBs pan out, then I'll be more than happy.

Brown looks great, making people forget about that girl Eddie. I would have gone with him over Smith but some homer took him.

Sorry. Being a pretty big time fantasy football guy I am a huge subscriber to drafting RBs early and often, no matter who is there.

Mack: at #8 you would have either gotten Jamal or Edge (E. James) assuming that Green, Tomlinson, Holmes, Alexander, Deuce, and Portis were taken. I would have drafted the RB and then at pick #12 you still would have gotten a tier #1 receiver (which I still wouldn't have done, becuase RBs win championships) but you would have been able to snag TO, Ward (not neccesarily tier 1), Holt, or maybe Harrison. This may not have given you the same depth at WR but I think overall your team would have been better. Unless of course your scoring system gives a point per reception.

Just my $0.02 :)

I was of that mindset before too, but I'm not taking McAllister over Moss, that's just not going to happen. Sure I slide with the Vikings' bye week, but 12 pts for every Culpepper/Moss TD works for me. Plus I'm so stocked at WR I've got room to deal, plus our supplemental drafts. I'm sure some Domanick Davis will show up again.

I, on the contrary, love McAllister. He is a stud, wasn't it 11 games last year with 100 yards rushing or more? That is what I call consistancy. Yeah you could get lucky on the WW with picking up a solid rookie or no-name RB (Like I did last year :) ) Will see how it turns out. I'm just worried that since it was a 10 man league and the WR position is sooo deep with the potential for a lot of WW studs (like S. Smith last year) combined with other teams depth at RB you could be in trouble. Like I said, it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Last year I went 11-0 with a roster of T. Green, S. Davis, E. George, L. Coles, J. Morton (my depth at WR was attrocious), A. Crumpler, J. Kasay, and the Ravens and that was a 12 man league. In FF ANYTHING can happen.
