Old Easton Drury blade

Recommended Posts

I was just going through some old hockey stuff down in my storage locker, and I found this wooden blade which must be 4 or 5 years old. I don't even remember buying it. I was looking at it, and it looks different to me then the Drury curves on Easton OPS and composite blades. Is this just in my head, and this is actually the same curve?

That looks more like a Lidstrom to me.

The Lidstrom has a square toe and more loft than that blade. I'd say it's deeper too, in terms of the height of the blade.

It's wood, they always vary from one to the next.

That's a good point. Taking that into account, would you say it's pretty close to the current composite Drurys?

Wood or ABS blades vary from company to company, however it is VERY difficult to get something remotely close to a OPS or Composite blade.

There was a different curve on wood Drurys a few years ago that I remember seeing in Canada, sold at one of the Costco-ish stores of all places. At the time I wanted to say it looked Zubrus-y.

Could it have been SportMart or SportChek? Some of the price tag is still on the blade and the color scheme/logo reminds of one of those stores.

Out of curiosity, do you know what the old Zubrus curve is most comparable to in today's retail curves?

I don't know this for a fact for my manager is a Drury freak and he used to use the Drury wooden blade forever and got a composite blade Drury and says it's different.
