CCM Prostock blade?

Recommended Posts

I recently found an old pro stock v130 that I had bought a couple years ago. I started messing around with it and absolutely fell in love with the blade. It is the "thick" pro stock blade and has the best feel out of any composite stick Ive used. Since the v130 blade is hard to find, is there anything similar?

If you want to stick with ccm, go with the 10.0 blades. I know they're not as thick as the v130 blades, but they do look bulky IMO. There's a handfull on ebay right now just look em up if ur interested.

First off, TOLD YOU about the thick blade, it's amazing!

There's a decent amount of 10.0 pro stocks with it... The retail catapult blade is CLOSE, but not quite. It's the closest you'll find to it on retail, I dont even think the VDS is quite as good as the "thick" blade. TO clearify, VDS has a bit more feel, Catapult has better dampening. "Thick" blade owns all.

Haha I know TBLfan, you get the cred. I found some pro stock ccm composite blades on ebay. They are the v130 color scheme. You think they will be thick?

You can only tell by looking at the blade. The weave is pretty thick and zigzagged so it should be decently easy to guess. But be careful, their "thin" blade has the same weave, I've never tried that one but people do speak highly of it. Then of course their is the catapult blade which is similar in look but inbetween, honestly, dont think you'd be bad off either way.

Yes, by "thick" we mean the thickness of the blade, not blade shape. The blade is VERY apparent how thick it is just by sight... Oddly enough, it doesn't throw off balance, I have to assume that there is a lot of foam in there.

Doesn't look right to me, looks like the 10.0 blade. Too glossy(too much finish) and the weave is a bit thin, this is completely going off memory though, I dont have one anymore, traded it... damn heel curves. See if he'll give you a better angle, maybe I'm wrong.

I'll check a source for you, he has a lot of THC pro stock OPSs, RH sakic 85 or less flex right?

I have seen a couple of blades with that type of weave pattern, but I don't think I have seen blades as thick as you are inferring. The thickess blade I have seen are the pro Synergy ST OPS blades. Although its not really heavy it looked hard to puck handle with.

ok... you should be fine with the catapult blade. I've used the one viking posted and it's really only a step up from the 10.0 and felt on par with the catapult. *Keep in mind that I used that 10.0(with vikings style blade) briefly, used the 10.0 for a few games and the catapult briefly as well*

I love that thing, but durability-wise it hasn't been the best. I got it on e-bay for like $10 though, so at that price, I'm okay with it not really holding up. It does have great feel though; I usually use a wood stick, and it's one of the only composite blades I've ever really liked.
