NBH xxx-lite flexier than xvi?

Recommended Posts

ive actually noticed that some high end sticks can sometimes be quite flexier compared to a mid to low end stick, an example i went through was using the both the stealths compared to a normal blue vector. the flex difference was very noticable

i had a synergy st in a 100 and a stealth in a 100 and the difference between them was out of this world. the st was alot stiffer than the stealth. i think what tips said is pretty accurate in saying that higher end stick are a little whippier than low end sticks.

its because in lower end sticks, more fibre glass is used, and fibre glass does not flex easily... hence the stiffer feeling stick

The cheaper the stick generally the more fibreglass, or other compsoite; these composites have less give/flex to them than carbon and graphite.

i read someware on here i think and it said that with the compenies top end sticks they make them flexier so that you get more kick from the shot and believing that the stick is making your shot better and stick to the brand (i think the were talking about the s17 )

thanks, great info guys. this is my first high-end stick, since the XVI was my first composite stick this season. the first 20 or so seasons were all with wood. i was thinking about going down to a 77 flex, but now i'm really glad i didnt. i havent played with it yet, (hoping to get out to open hockey tomorrow night) but i think it'll be a vast improvement over my XVI. it feels like a feather compared to the XVI.
