NBH Stick weights

Recommended Posts

Are the weights of the Nike Bauer OPS listed anywhere? I am curious to see how they compare to Easton OPS. I currently use a Z Bubble/Johnson combo that weighs in at about 455 grams and I wanted to see if any of the NBH OPS come in under that.

I have to say that the one90 weights the same than the old XXX.

Over 400 grams for sure.

The main thing is more the way the stick is balanced on the one 90 and XXXX.

A very little heavier than the Easton OPS high end I would say.

To me xxx and one90 have the exact same weight ;)

The feel of a combo is totally different compared to an ops.

It's all about personal preferences.

If you like combo over traditional wood stick, I'm not sure you will enjoy with an ops.

don't know about the stealth s17, but my xxx lites felt lighter than my stealth cnt's. maybe this is just because the xxx lites are better balanced and less blade heavy.

for the original poster: if you are buying a top end stick, they will all be light. don't buy the stick based on weight.

My XXXX feels like it weighs a touch less than my SE, but I feel the SE has a better balance. The XXXX is a touch blade heavy, but I used a carbon extension instead of a wooden one (my LHS had one the right length in their scrap box).

The S17 was marked as being the same weight (420g at standard length) but had better balance and a lighter feel than the SE.

The only time I really care about weight is when I grab my backup shaft and feel the heft of that tank. I only notice the stick weighs more or less when I swap out and can tell the difference. That feeling leaves soon after skating since they're all within a dozen grams of each other.

Just so people are aware. When a manufacturer puts the weight on the stick, it is the weight of the stick at 57" per the industry standard for measuring weight not the full length 60"

It's also measured with the smallest blade. Then you have to figure there is as much as 10% margin for error in the manufacturing process.
