Vapor XXXX blade stuck in Dolo shaft

Recommended Posts

When I was putting the blade in it got a little difficult at one point but went in until about a 1/2" of the tenon remained. But from this point on I can't get the blade to budge at all, neither in or out. I've tried all the tricks I've read on here and nothing's worked. Any more ideas?

When you say "all the tricks" what do you mean?

You've heated it with a heatgun and used rebar to put pressure on it? You've used a blowtorch for more heat? You've done other things?

Or did you use a hairdryer and put 3 pieces of tape on the tenon before you started?

No need to be a prick and using a torch will damage a shaft.

Sorry, didn't think I was being a prick.

Apologies to you troy.

I was trying to point out the vagueness of saying "all the tricks."

The torch won't ruin the shaft if you don't use the flame but the hot gas. Same as a heat gun, but you can get the shaft to temperature more easily. Suppose it's not a good recommendation, but it's still something that's been said on here.

Even a heat gun can cause damage if it applies heat too quickly, so faster heating is not really a good thing for composite shafts.

Shit, you think I shoulda gone with four pieces of tape?

I'm using a heat gun getting the shaft as hot as it should be, used the curtain rod trick and tried lodging it in a door to pry the blade out, and I've had literally my entire body hanging on the end of the blade to try to get it in.

I tied a string around the blade and a door knob, shut the door, yanked and out came the blade. Now, any ideas why it won't go in? The tenon seems to be the same exact dimensions as those of my Dolo blade.

Haha thanks. Actually what I did was heat up and wipe off all the glue that came with the blade, threw some of my own on there and it went in like a charm. It's in even snugger than my Dolo blade.
