Any advices protective gears?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm about to buy new protectives (elbow, shin and shoulder).

I went to my local shop but they don't have a lot of gears.

So I think I gonna order those online.

I saw the RBK 9k line (most expansive one but weirdly the most simple one)

I want something light, not to heavy(restrictive) and the most mobility.

Hope you can give some advices on some good combo :)

For now I think of that :

Shoulder : RBK 5k or new CCM vector 10 (looks very nice in the catalogue)

Elbow : RBK 9K

Shin : new Vapor XXXX (need something very protective for the shin guard)

Thanks

The new vector 10 is indeed the shoulder pads which is most stylish/sexy in my opinion.

There's a ovechkin edition, but I'm not sure that ovechkin himself really wear it?

I have no idea of what it looks like with the jersey on?

I'm just a little afraid that it is maybe too protective for me (I play full contact but not professional) and maybe not the freedom of mobility is not as much as the RBK ASP line...

Any advises on the XXXX shin and 9k elbows?

Check out the 5k for the elbow pads. Almost half the price and I think its just as good as the 9k. The 9k is a little more substantial but the 5k is more than suficient for protection.

I just picked up a pair of the 6K elbow and shin pads from www.icewarehouse.com. They just got here today so I have not had a chance to use them, but I must say they look very nice. Their ideas make sense and looks like they are going to work well (nice strap placement and design). Trying them on they fit well and were comfortable. Can't wait to get my new skates so I can try out all my new gear and get back into the swing of things. Not sure if they will ship to you but if so coupon code: IWSAVE5 will save you 5%. Good luck.

Had a pair of 110's. Same design. Extremely comfortable and protective. The bad news, too bulky. Traded them for a pair of Nike/Bauer Supreme 0ne 90's. They may however suit you but try them on first to be sure.

I have one90 elbow and shins and love them. Before these i had vector 10.0 ( the old ones) and was not impressed. I feel like the one90's fit better and offer alot more mobility while not sacrifing any protection. For chests i have jofa 9800's. I would love to find another pair of these but i dont think anyone has any left.

It all depends on your build. endomorphic/athletic, mesomorphic or ectomorphic. This will determan what will fit you best. NBH tend to make narrow shin pads. Elbow pads are similar regarding depth, arm size and length. Not as easy as just looking at something and saying Cool I'll take it. Thats why a lot of guys stick with the same old stuff from years ago.

Give us some info so we can better help.

Sounds like he likes the lower profile models and lightness.Either the Supreme One 90 or the S-9/5 would do him. He may want to try out the Itech 955 as well but probably not quite as comfortable a fit.
