Here's one for the Mission Lovers

Recommended Posts

I've been thinking of ordering a couple Mission sticks, but i'm stuck between two. the first is the Mission V-hex, and the other is the Mission Fuel TI (Blue & Black). I was wondering what the difference between the two are. I've been looking at the 85 flex, and can't figure out the closest to either a naslund or a datsyuk is, lie 6. Which pattern would that be?

Is the 85 flex an accurate 85? or is it a "stiffer" or "weaker" 85 flex?

I have only heard good things of Mission sticks, which is why im so tempted, and the only place i can buy them is off the monkey, since I cant find any other online retailer, and they arent available in Switzerland.

Thanks for all your help guys.

i would try the Fuel Ti Rafalski pattern. as to the flex-- how big are you ( height / weight ). flex is all relative to a number of things- how much you cut off, shooting form, slapshot guy or wrist/snap/pass kind guy. my suggestion is if you like to feel the stick load up and kick... try a 75-- especially if you cut 1-3 inches off your stick.

go with the 75! a stick gets 3% stiffer for inch you cut off. unless you are using that stick at full length... its not an 87 brother! having the stiffest stick out there is not a measure of how good you are. use the the flex that helps you get the best shot off while playing the game at real life speed-- not while standing still in warmups. in golf you can take your sweet time... in hockey you have a fraction of a second and you need to be able to load faster and easier ( how many time are you shooting when off balance??? ).

yea i kno that, but i tend to cut my sticks a bit longer, like just under my nose, and i dont like having tooooo much whip in my stick, like my friend this year, bought 2 r6 shafts whip flex, because in the store without the blades they felt decent, but with blades in them it was like using a junior stick all over again... i dont wanna make that mistake, especially buying online.

buy what you you like. i have shot just about everybodys' 75 and the Matte Finish is a touch stiffer than the Grip Ti 75 and other 75 flexes i have used. i can only make suggestions based off of what i know and my experience. you asked for my advice because, you have not used the new stick and you dont want to make a mistake. with the stats you gave me... i feel comfortable with my suggestion. you asked for advice.... you do not have to take it. i hope this helps and you find something you like. good luck!

a mission 85 is ALOT stiffer than any other 85 you will use.

85 mission is close to 100 easton

i found that out the hard way when i bought a 100 mission and realized it was like shooting with a 120. my lhs had the same stick in a 85 flex a week later and it was almost exactly tha same flex as my old easton 100.

that being said id definately go with a 75 flex.

as for what stick id go with the fuel ti i think they are one of the best sticks out. i love them (when they are the right flex)

That depends on which stick(s) you're looking at. I found the "older" Mission stuff (Fuel, V-Hex, etc.) felt pretty close to whatever they were marked at. The newer TIs and TI-Pros, however, definitely feel quite a bit stiffer than what they're stamped at.

so 75 flex fuel ti = 87 flex nbh?

ive never seen a 75 here but i definately know that if its anything like any other of the flexes then yes that should be the case.
