warrior dolomite shaft

Recommended Posts

Ok first off I know a few things about hockey equipment but not alot about the whole techincal side as you will see from this post. hockeymonkey has some warrior dolomite pro stock shafts on sale for 60 bucks and i've been looking to get a new shaft. I was wondering about the length of the shaft so i called and the lady said that the shafts are all different lengths since they are pro stock, but that some are 60in long. This seems like the perfect shaft for me since i'm about 6'7 on skates. My question is i'm gonna to order the standard blade shaft so that means i can just put any type of blade on the shaft as long as it's not tapered right? Now i know putting any kind of blade onto a shaft can throw off the balance/weight....etc but I mainly play pick up ice hockey games and i'm in a few roller hockey leagues so i'm not to concered about the weight/balance. Basically i wanna know if i can just put any kind of 20 dollar wood blade onto this shaft, and if anyone has this shaft can you let me know what you think of it. Also anyone know what the Polar Fiber feels like since thats all they have?

Welcome to the board.

Standard shafts will take standard blades, tapered shafts will take tapered blades. Make sure you get Senior sized blades with Senior sized shafts. A wood blade will make it slightly heavily towards the end of the stick but I find a wooden end plug on the other end will tend to even it out a little bit. Weight shouldn't be an issue but if you're looking for some dirt cheap blades I know Hockey Giant is clearing out their Fury brand ones. I haven't used them personally so I can't comment on the performance.

Polar Fibre feels gritty like sandpaper.

Pretty much sums it up mickz...haha.

I have two Nipple Grips, one warrior 360 (70), one warrior 260 (95).

Both are 53 Inches from end to end without a blade.

I ordered one a couple weeks ago. Very nice shaft. A teammate of mine ordered two and his two are not the same as mine (his are much more boxy-square) I mention this because of the no return policy. The polar fiber is much easier to get used to than a true grip stick IMO. For the price I would recommend to anyone.

Do you know if you're able to make a request for a boxier or more retail standard shaft when ordering or is it just luck of the draw?

I put a wood CCM 852 blade in mine, may put a comp in later. I ordered mine over the internet so that was luck of the draw. Maybe if you call customer service to make the order, you may be able to request one or the other.

Both nipple grips I have are relatively concave.

I called up and the lady was more than happy to look around for exactly what I wanted, and found me the 70 flex nipple grip. Both tapered.

The nipple grip is my favorite, it's more of a rubber-like finish than a tacky coating. With that said, I have also felt the polar fibre and it's pretty damn cool too.
