Length of a full skate size?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how long in Inches or CM a full skate size is? Im sure it varies from brand to brand, but Im trying to get a rough measurement so I can figure out what the length of half a skate size is. Thanks

thats kind of a complicated question, because I wear a 11.5 NBH, and my foot is about 11 7/8" - so doing the math that would mean a "size" is about 1 inch, but we know thats not the case.

I guess it depends what size your talking about. I think from a 11 to a 12 is about 1/4"....but maybe going from a 9 to a 10 would be 3/8" - not really sure how "sizing" works....

What are you trying to stretch your skates 1/2 size?

I just found this formula on Wikipedia:

"...So, the calculation for a male shoe size in the USA or Canada is:

male shoe size = ( 3 * last length in inches ) − 24..."

So YouTuuk does the calulations and crunches the numbers....from 11 to 12.

So lets say from size 11 to size 12

11 = ( 3 * X ) - 24 ------> ( 24 +11 )/3 = X = 11.67 inches

12 = ( 3 * Y ) - 24 ------> ( 12 + 24)/3 = Y = 12.00 inches

Therfore a male shoe size going from size 11 to 12 is 1/3 of an inch, so a 1/2 size is 1/6 of inch.

damn thats a pretty small difference. if i knew this before i would have spent the extra money to spend back my skates and get a half size smaller

One size would be 8mm (0.8cm).

Here is the end all of answers look at this link and notice the black chart near the bottom, ignore the blue chart it seems to be slightly inaccurate to me....but it pretty much agrees with the formlua I put forth earlier....

1 size = 0.33 inches ~ 8mm ( as per Fredrik )

http://suppliersedge.com/footmeasure.htm

bottomline is know your actuall foot size in cm or inches, and bring a small caliper to the LHS and measure the inside of the skate from heal to toe yourself....
