looking for a custom skate profile calculator

my friend told me about this excel sheet someone created where you just input your weight and height dimensions and it would calculate an ideal profile for your skate, radius, pitch and there were 2 others i think

anyone have a clue what i'm talking about

For anyone that is interested in how the equations work, please see below. I have no idea how these things were derived though.

H = Height (in inches)

W = Weight (in lbs.)

B = Boot size

I = Ice Temp. (in degrees Celsius)

S = Skate Pitch

Radius / Profile = 10.5 + ((H - 70 + W - 175 + B - 10) / 15)

This equation is bounded by a minimum result of 7'

Hollow = 0.5 + (((W / 160) - 0.9)+((I + 5.6) / 20) - (S/8))

This equation is bounded by a minimum result of 3/8"

The things gives me the minimums: 3/8" Hollow, 7' Radius :P

I'm skating with 7/16" and not sure about the Radius.

Off topic, but does anyone know what the stock radius of a pair of junior sized (5.5) Supreme One90s is?

Sorry to thread jack, but I have a question regarding skate profiling and don't want to start a new topic. So I'm now 5'8", 155, and I play at the collegiate club level (DII). Growing up, I was told by a coach to skate with a 13' radius and a forward lean. I loved that set up; felt like I was really flying out there. I then took a break for 6 years and have gotten back into the game in the last two years.

Now, I'm skating in a pair of stock Vapor XXV's. I haven't gotten a pair of skates rockered or profiled since I was 11. When I first tried these on, I felt a little far back on my heels, but I've gotten more used to it. Do you guys have any recommendations as to what I should do? I think I'm going to get the blade rockered slightly forward, but I'm not sure about profiling. Also, how will rockering the blades forward affect my hollow? I'm skating on 9/16" right now.

If it worked for you, why not get the same setup?

The reason I'm hesitant is because I'm no longer the same 4'6", 65 lb. 11 year-old. I'm worried that my huge increase in size and consequent drop in agility won't work very well with that set-up. In addition, I don't feel quite as confident on my edges as I did before the extended break I took from hockey.

I think it was ridiculous to be in a 13' at that age anyway. Keep in mind that your boot is bigger so it would make more sense.

You're at a 9' -1 right now...just tweak til you find what you need.

So am I to assume that a 21' radius with a 5/8 hollow is not for me?

that depends, are you a goalie? ;)

My son used to be at radius 13', dropped him down to 11' radius with a heel lift like OTG and JR had suggested last year.

This year I went to a new lhs to buy his skates, I asked if they profile skate sure enough they do. what dazzled me was when I asked to get 9' radius saleman said they change there system around how they profile skates, he was going to start my son 8/9 radius its a first to me. got me curious to post here and get some feed back, could they split radius on the blade? without effecting performance?
