Need some pant advice

Recommended Posts

They have Jofa HP5000 and Franklin HP7800 at around $40. A search here and google provided no info. Are these their "house" models?

Anyone ever use these pants? Does the Jofa have zippered legs ( a must for me)?

Thanks

I bought a pair of their Jofa 5000 just recently. Almost the same pant as my old Tackla 5000. Came without zippers though. Good deal for the price!

I'm trying to remember...I used to sell it.

There were two pants, 2000 and 5000. Maybe I am confusing the 5000 with the 7000 Pro Stock which came zippered.

At that price....if everything else about them is fine, you could probably get a tailor to sew zippers in for you pretty cheap.

I have a pair of the Franklin's that I purchased from HockeyWorld, and I absolutely love them. They are light, easy to move in and have great protection. The inside of the legs are zippered too.

I have had these for 3+ years and play roughly 2-3 times a week in high level gentlemen's and they are still going strong.

I would definitely recommend them and if they are still around when mine bite the dust I will purchase another pair for sure.

Well, it looks like they don't have zippers, so a deal-killer for me, I'm not going to go get a tailor put zippers in 'em, it'll probably cost me $50 here in LA. I'm probably either going to get the Franklins or I'm looking at some Fury 1007 pants. The reviews here of the Fury seem to be pretty good; anyone know if they have zippers?

That's weird, I know positively without a doubt that the Jofa 5000's I owned had zippers. I gave them to a guy on my recreational hockey team, and that was one of the things he wanted, because he liked putting on his skates before his hockey pants. That was one of the things I also checked on my Tackla 5000's when I picked them up too.

How's the sizing run on the Jofa, big or small? I thought I needed XL, but I just took a look at my Easton UL and they are a 52, 34"-36". The Jofa's are XL, 36"-38". I have a 36" waist.

The extra large will be a 36" to 38" roughly.( 54 European size) Look at the inside tag that is on the belly pad or at the back inside seam of the pant. If you like to wear your pant loose this should be perfect for you. If you like to wear your pant a bit tighter then I'd go with a 34" to 36" pant. Remember as with any piece of hockey equipment fit is everything. The more comfortable you are in it the better you play.
