New ST-blade

Recommended Posts

Not yet but I am curious as to why they went to 2 ribs this year instead of the original 3 rib. Hope Easton isnt going cheap on us.

Howdy,

when the new ST came into my work, I picked one up for my Z-Bubble shaft, at first, it was light for a longer hosel blade, and the finished looked much different (think the blade off of the SE range of Synergies). The blade is thinner too.

It's a bit less stiff, due to one less rib, but I found it was not as stiff than last year. It's chipping and wearing faster than the older ST.

I prefer the older ST, but I do like the fact that it's no longer a short hosel. I found on HockeyMonkey they have an older ST with the longer hosel.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

I've been using one for about 6 weeks and I like it. I can't compare to the older ST as I never used nor saw it, but I think it's a decent blade for the money.

My old ST was heavy as hell. Ended up getting rid of it by throwing it at the neighbours cat that pissed on my gear bag.

Is the new version lighter?

It (the blade) didn't make a U-turn, come back and hit you like a boomerang, did it? :P

Sorry, but i didn't end up playing last night. Dog woke me up really early and i fell asleep when it was time to go. I will be sure to go and play on Friday becuase i have to try out the Heatley curve i got.

I used the blade tonight. It will be hard to tell about durability because i have only used it once. It seemed pretty stiff, but not as stiff as the SE blade when i bought it. It received passes well and shots were pretty good. I also thought it was pretty light. I think it will be great for a back up stick (which is what i will be using it for as I'm getting another SE next week).

You may want to take this with a grain of salt because i wanted to try a new curve. I ended up getting the Heatley, which i didn't like as much as the Forsberg.

I also just used mine last night, but like Cheesehead I was trying out a new curve (Lidstrom) which I did not like. The blade was good though, stiffness seemed average to me, all the shots I took were nice. The blade seemed pretty light to me, but the S15 (LHS was out of STs in Forsberg curve, which is what I'm going back to) that I picked up today is noticeably lighter.

Nope, but the cat didn't come back. ;)

Supply and demand pal ... prob cos all the Forsberg lovin humps spoil it for the rest of us!!

Less demand for blades these days I guess, so assume they go with what sells the best and make those.
