New Stick?

Recommended Posts

I am looking for two new sticks for the up and coming year. I want to spend around $150 but possibly a little more. So far I have made a list of options

Easton Synergy ST

Reebok 7K Sickick

Worrior Dolomite '06 or '07

Bauer One90

The company I am stuck on is Bauer vapor line. I have a vapor XVI that I used for my backup last year, but it is a little too blade heavy. I am stuck between the XXV and the XXXX. The XXV is in my price range, but is the XXXX worth the extra money?

I am planning on buying new two sticks in the near future. Which would be the best choice?

The '06 dolo's pretty good...I've been using mine since..umm..this time last year maybe. It really is an excellent stick.I tried my team mates sickick but didn't really like it.Same with the old ST.If I had the money I'd deffinately go for two dolo's.

One90 is a great stick. Pretty well balanced from what I can tell... I got the PM9 St. Louis model with 87 flex. I'm used to bigger and more open curves but once I got used to it I found it was great! If your someone who likes to take the big slapper then the One90 is a great stick for you.

I am more of a wrister kind of guy, my slapper needs help. Would the stick be a bad choice? or will it help me out? :(

i love my one90 (p106 87flex) and i am mostly a wrister and snapshot guy. I dont hit slappers very much, and i havent been disappointed at all. also had good luck with dolomite's. but lately im on a SE fix.

I think it will definitely help you with your slapshot. I noticed my wristers gain a little more velocity as well. I've always had a strong shot but I found after using the One90 for a couple of weeks my shot gained a little velocity. Granted it won't transform you into a 90mph shooter but I found it is a little bit of help. It took me a bit to get used to it as it was my first OPS after using wood but I find it to be great.

sorry to ask you so many questons, but I assume that you have an 85 flex SE, is that similar to the one90 87?

lol, no problem, yeah its an 85. I cut all my sticks down to my chin though (im 6') so its a little stiffer. but they feel similar, there may be a little gap, but not enough to make a difference... i kind of fell in love with the drury pattern so i got into the se's/ but bring out the one90 occasionally so she isnt too jealous :D

How do you find the SE compares to the One90? I'm considering a second OPS and I liked the SE because it's similar in terms of overall feel and weight to the One90, maybe a little lighter. What differences do you notice?

the vapor xxxx is worth the extra money...great puck feel and the proflex(102) actually feels like a 100 flex stick

with the staal curve P91A...absoultly money

IMO, the Easton ST is hands-down the most well-rounded stick on the market. consistent mid-to-lower shaft flex, crisp blade, good shaft shape. i've been through at least a dozen different twigs since picking up the ST (including the S17, One90 and Dolomite, amongst others), but i always seem to go back to it.... and as long as Easton keeps churning them out, they'll always be my go-to sticks.

I have a one90 and dolomite among other sticks. 85 and 87 flex cut down about 2 inches and in the naslund/draper pattern. To me i would say they are about equal, maybe with a slight edge to the dolomite. Both are good for slap shots and wristers, but the dolomite has a lower kick point (im pretty certain) and it adds a little more to my wristers then the one90. I read your more of a wrister player, so am I and for wristers i have found the best stick for me is a TPS R8.

Right now I am deciding between the one90 and the XXXX because both are in stock in the int. flex. can anyone else compare the two?

One90 high kick point

XXXX low kick point

The kick point is basically where the shaft will flex. If it's a high kickpoint, the shaft flexes towards the top and if it's a low kickpoint it flexes towards the bottom. It's pretty much what type of shooter you are and personal preference as to which one is better.
