Wondering if you guys can help me out a bit. I am starting to do freelance web design work and was curious what everyone is using for screen resolution. Most studies seem to suggest 1024x768 is the most common now, but I wanted to throw it out there to see what everyone here is using.

1920 x 1200

Thockey, what size screen allows you to go 2560 x1600? I have a 24" iMac and I'm set to 1920 x 1200, since that is the largest allowed. Are you using a TV monitor as a computer screen?

All of the 30" monitors (that I'm aware of) allow for 2560x1600 provided you have a dual-link capable video card. TV based LCDs that allow for a computer input do not support such high resolutions.

... I was waiting for someone to make that joke/ask what you need a 30" monitor for.

Its just like everything else in the world. You dont need it, its just a luxury.

I'm riding dual monitors. Cause you can never have enough porno playing at once.

Gotta love the dual monitors! I can't hardly stand going back to just 1
