Fletch

Mission Lieutenants or Wicked 1's?

Recommended Posts

I've been out of roller for a couple years but am looking to get back into it. Can anyone tell me which of these skates are better?

Go with the LTs, from what I've heard from people who use the syndicate line, its a great skate.

The Wickeds have had their issues. If the skate fits, great, but if it doesnt you're in for a lot of bruising and sores on your feet. Do a search, there's a thread on the problems with the Wickeds (5 and 7 didnt have the same issues).

Here's a thread on the wicked 3s...from my understanding they had similar issues with the Wicked 1s

Fletch let the Wicked line die and fall down the power shaft with bolts of lightning coming from its fingers. There is good in the BOSS, LT line, you can feel it in the force

yea... agree with Saba... I had the Wicked 1s for a while, couldnt skate too much after a while due to the pain in the feet. Traded them with one MSH member which he said were sweet, but a few weeks later he said they were bad on his feet as well.

Go with the LTs. Most of the players who bought new skates this year have gone with the Soldiers, but they said that the Soldiers were really good. I had a pair of Assassins, but sold those off for my sprung loaded skates.

What are the major differences between the LT and the BOSS besides the chassis? I looked at both yesterday at Giant and the BOSS seemed a lot stiffer. I have a lot of foot/ankle issues so I'm wondering if the LT's wouldn't be stiff enough for me.

LTs are very stiff. But then again, I went to them after having been a Bauer/NBH user all my life.

What NBH boot would you compare the LT to? I have One95's for ice, so It may be tough for me to find a comparable boot in terms of stiffness. ;)

Go with the Lieutenants....The should be plenty stiff for you....There are some internal differences, but you should be ok in them.

You could always wait for the 2009 line....

It is looking really good....

It was in the position as you are now few weeks ago, I went for the Wicked 1, I don't care about the painful break in period

For me :

Full carbon construction

Full carbon outsole

Mg Chassis

Micro bearings

Very light (1100g)

200 dollars

Better style on foot

If you set apart the "fitting" side of the question (which the most important in choosing a skate :P ).

Wicked 1 is a way more high end skate than the Lt...

Anyone know how comparable the depth is on a BOSS vs. a Bauer One95?

Fletch, I personally like the Boss skates, they are a bit pricey, but if you could swing it, thats what I would go with, I have never put on a one95 so I cant compare, I can tell you the wicked line are very stif skates, I have the wicked 5's as well and they are super super stiff after nearly a year and a half...Arent you able to get to a shop there in cali to try any of the mission skates on?...Hell, ride down to Mission Inc. and tell them you want a tour and to see some skates, never know what might happen, really good people there, well I know they used to be....my 2 cents anyway hope it helps a bit.
