5HoleMadman 6 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 I tried searching the threads already and couldn't find any topics that match what I'm looking for. So don't get mad people. I'm looking for a good quality outdoor stick that I can use, that's not heavy like a log. After being spoiled using the all composite stick's for indoor, I just don't really like the older resin types of blades. Any ideas for a good OPS or composite blade that will handle outdoor? I play at a park here in So. Cal. so it's not asphalt, but more like a smooth cement. I used to use a CCM v110 but I like a more square type stick and it was a little to convex for me. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 Anything with an ABS core, bottom. Vectors will work the best (V08)
5HoleMadman 6 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 So the new Vectors will be okay, just like the old ones?
5HoleMadman 6 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 Also, what's the ccm clone of easton's sakic?
5HoleMadman 6 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 Sorry, Scratch that I found the answer to the curve question...
kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 No, not all of the Vectors. Be careful, the top one has a full comp blade now. I would take a look at the Vector V08 and Vector V8.0/V6.0 from last year.
DamnLocust 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 You can probably get away with doing a shaft/wood blade combo for the polished concrete. As long as you're not too rough on them, they'll hold up, and be lighter and have better feel than the ABS/combo blades. I've been using wood blades on asphalt for about 3 years now, and they work just fine for me.
thefelixculpa 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 if you have any old composite blades you dont care about and are playing with a ball, you should just use that composite blade. I used a synergy II shaft with the syn II blade at my outdoor rink which has a concrete surface and the blade lasted me about 15 games. I found that after the initial wear of the bottom of the blade, the rest of the blade lasted pretty well. It didnt get too soft and the stuff inside the blade didnt fall out.
