Removing shoulder caps?

Recommended Posts

I've got some synergy shoulders (100 I think) that I want to wear in beer league but I don't need the robo-cop look. I've heard people on here talk about removing the caps in their shoulders but after looking mine over, I don't see any obvious way to do this. Do some shoulders have removable caps or are you guys cutting material to remove the caps??? Thanks!

Their probably just cutting the material to remove them. If I where you though, I'd leave them on because the Easton 100's are a bottom of the line shoulder pad and should be fairly light. I'd take the side of caution and leave myself some protection in case you fall awkwardly on the ice or take a spill into the boards but that's just my recommendation. You can do as you please.

I wouldn't recommend taking off the actual caps. They're the first line of defense of getting a separated shoulder/bruised shoulder. Best to look for smaller caps on shoulder pads, if you want something really low profile, go with the Bauer Supreme Classic shoulders (new versions of the ever popular old school Coopers) or other companies.

cool. I'll check it out. I think my synergies are also too big which makes them feel bulky even tho they're bottom of the line.
