Fury Aeroflux Classic gloves

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any experience with them? Searched and couldnt find anything specific. How comfortable are they with the croslite material in them? Are they relatively light, and hows the construction? Does the 14" fit like a 14" or is it bigger/smaller? For 50.00, I was considering picking them up as I need a new pair of mitts. Now if only they were in nylon....*dreams*

I've got a pair coming from a member (ntwusc), they should be here this week. I'll let you know, and I'm very interested myself.

Mine will be 14" Navy, if you hold off and they're too small (I'm a 14/15" guy) you can get them for cheaper than from Monkey ;)

kovalchuk71-- hopefully this week. He was out of town for the weekend of the fourth and said he'd get them out today if not before he left last week.

pretty things-

The gussets are lycra with synthetic reinforcements on the fingertips made of the same material as the rest of the outer shell. The fingers are the same digital material as the double-layer palm.

Gloves arrived today, I don't quite know how I feel about them. The sizing is pretty similar to my 14" Vapor XX gloves, a bit shorter in the fingers though, but they're still pretty stiff. The palm is still covering my whole hand, so they're not quite as small as a Bauer or RBK 13" glove. My pinky is swimming but the rest of my fingers are decently snug.

Mesh gusset on the thumb only, the rest of the fingers have a leather patch at the tip and spandex/stretch material for the remainder of the gusset.

They're light for being an all (p)leather glove, but the padding feels thinner than a traditional glove which is probably what the croslite material is being utilized for.

Finish could be better. The stitching is ended kind of roughly and the palm material is trimmed in a very Chinese-factory fashion. You can tell they're handmade or at least hand finished, but not by someone paid enough to care too much about smooth lines. The hole where they inserted the plastic thumb is still open, and I could see it being snagged when trying to quickly put on the glove, but i can also see it working shut as the glove breaks in.

The palm feels good, but it seems like it should feel a lot better after it's had a few skates and loosens up a bit. The palm is digital with an overlay on the center of the thumb and across the main palm (regular area). There's actually a second palm overlay inside the glove as well, making it a 3 layer palm, 2 layer thumb and single layer fingers. I don't know if a third layer is needed, it may just end up being too thick and get cut out later on.

The fingers are snug, along with the top of the palm and thumb, but it really loosens up toward the center and bottom of the palm, making it almost feel like all of the weight of the gloves is on your knuckles and fingers.

Mobility in the wrist is good, but only because the cuff is flared wide open, much larger than my XX gloves can be locked open. The thumb feels like it needs an extra centimeter of freedom when I'm just flexing it, the connecting strap feels like it's a tad short and the main thumb is a solid plastic insert than doesn't give. Not as noticeable when I make a fist though. The fingers are still stiff, but feel like they'll be fine once the palm and padding are loosened a bit.

They do feel pretty darn good though. They're not butter like a $200 pair of Eagles, but they're not stiff as boards like a $20 pair of CCMs. I can see them breaking into a really darn nice glove, but the initial impression is just slightly soured from a few things that could make this a stellar glove.

I have yet to hold a stick and do a little stickhandling (I'm still at work :P), but I'll try to get some pics and more initial impressions as I go.

Would I pay $70, $100 or $120 for these? Hell no. That's 4-roll (and other great glove) territory and these don't stand a chance. Would I pay $40 or $50? Yeah, sure. They're not amazing, but they seem of good quality and after a little work would be a very cushy set of mitts.

Bud on my team picked these up. I gotta speak up they felt cheap but more importantly the way the glove moved on my hand was the worst feel I have felt in a glove. Its like opposite of NBH or Eagle, that is to say these remind me of throwbacks in ergonomics and R&D that has gone into glove making over the past few years. I dunno maybe that is what they were looking for in this glove. To me I am sorry I spotted them for him, I am not sure he knows what he is missing. With that said he is really happy with them and they do look snazzy as he is a big guy and the extra flair of the cuff gives him an old school look
