Most durable gloves?

Recommended Posts

I am in the market for new gloves, which brand and/or models have the most durable palms?

The palms of the last 2 gloves I have owned wore out after 6 months of use, they were low-mid range gloves.

Anything else I have to look for when buying gloves, except for the right fit?

Hopefully, something below $100, but I guess you could recommend higher prices ones as they might go on sale for less than $100.

Thanks

The right fitting glove should be top priority. If you have a pair of gloves that feel weird on your hand but have a palm that lasts what good is that?

Look for some high end gloves from last year on clearance. Try as many pairs on as you can and get what feels best. Treat your gloves right and air them out after every game and I mean every game and your palms should last.

Also use white tape instead of black. That helped my palms out a good bit.

I've used my Bauer one70 gloves for more than a year now and they are still in excellent condition without significant wear in the palms. Highly recommended for longevity and comfort if you find that the fit suits you.

Thanks to all those who replied so far.

I know fit is the most important factor, but I just want to get a list of gloves I should give more attention to. Fit is my first priority and durability is 2nd and if a glove that does both for me wins.

I have a rack to dry all my equipment, after every game I lay it all out on the rack. Thinking of adding some fans on the rack especially for the gloves.

I did switch to white tape after reading about it on this forum.

I also tried Warrior Mac Daddy at LHS, I loved the fit and the mobility. How is durability? Its a little over my budget, so I will wait for sale. One of my options.

Thanks

For that price you may also want to look at the NBH 4-roll. Very durable glove and as close to a pro stock glove I have ever seen sold at retail for under $100

Stay far away from the Mac Daddy. Worst glove I've ever worn. The palm on mine wore out after around 2 months. Get the 4-Rolls or some Eagles instead.

Have any of you thought about getting a glove re-palmed? I'm not really a stickler for palms, but I like mobility in the fingers and durability elsewhere in the glove.

I have a pair of MacDaddy's... don't wear them all that much but they have held up fine for me and seem pretty well made.

I have a pair of Bauer 4Rolls and they are absolute tanks. Wore them 3 times a week for a year and a half and I only ditched them because they were too big for me but otherwise loved them. If you use a high volume glove take a look at them. Awesome mitts!

I'm currently in the TPS R8 Lite and they are holding up nicely. They are good fit if you don't want a high volume glove.

Thank you for the heads up. This is the reason why I created this thread, the gloves might fit me nicely but I would love durability to go with it.

I have my eye open on NBH 4-rolls, heard nothing but good about this glove.

My old gloves cost me around $50 and I find it a little loose, so its not worth re-palming for me.

Keep the suggestions flowing, thanks all.

If you found youir glove loose then be careful with the NBH 4 Roll. It's for guys with big hands. As I said ealier, I had to get a different pair only because of the size. Take a look at the TPS R8 Lite.. its's a sweet glove too.

Another suggestion is the Mission Fuel 130. Raygnpunk asked about gloves with good ventilation. These are the bomb! Light, incrdedible venting and a nice mobile fit. Loved the palm too.
