Graf to Rbk skates

Recommended Posts

I wasn't sure what to search and this seemed like the most appropriate section... I am currently wearing Graf Ultra G5's in an 8W and I'm interested in getting some roller skates, and I'm thinking about getting the 8K pumps that hockeymonkey has on clearance. I would like to make sure that if I try on a pair of RBK's ice skates like the 9K pump, will they fit the same as their roller skates? And are RBK's skates very similar in fit to the G5's I am wearing now and is there an normal size difference when going from one brand to the other, like going up a half size, etc. from Grafs to RBK?

Sorry for all the questions, any help is appreciated. :)

Steve:

Comparison questions are asked quite a bit here. The real problem with an accurate answer is that no one really knows your foot but you. Expect some guidance, but most here would favor recommending that you try on the RBK skate to get a gauge of the feel yourself. I do not know if they use the same last from RKB ice to roller, so try your best to find a place that has them.

Yea I was just hoping to get a general idea if I should even look into these considering my feet fit pefect in my Grafs.

I don't know anywhere that has RBK roller skates so once I find out whether their roller and ice skates fit the same I should be able to get most of it from there...

*edit* i also forgot to mention i don't know if there's a lhs near me that has any rbks in e width, yet another obstacle to make this more difficult...

i had 705's and rbk 6k inlines. the rbk's just didnt do it for me, i didnt get the right heel lock going, and it didnt work out great for me. i ended up selling my rbks. now we are in slightly different situations as i had regular width grafs and D width RBK's, so your heel should fill more of the heel space in the RBK than mine did. still trying them on is best. i wear the same size ultra G graf as i do RBK, but thats just one persons opinion, everyone likes hteir skates fitting different.

hope this helps

It seems that our feet might be similar because I also had a pair of 705's before I got my G5's, so these skates might not be for me.

I also did try a pair of RBK 8k's when RBK first entered the hockey business and they didn't work for me, but I haven't tried any of the pump series skates, so there's still hope...

Generally, if the 705s fit well, then the heel in the reeboks will ne too wide for your foot.

But you never know for sure until you try them on.

do you happen to know what other skate or brand(who makes roller skates) has the closest fit to the 705's?

Grafs are going to have a narrower heel and the G-5 will be a much snugger fit at the toe area than the Reeboks. Not very similar at all.

lower RBK models have a tighter heel, like the 3k, 5k etc

other htan that the one i have noticed as being bit narrower is the mission one.
