LS2.1 Rivet Pattern Compared to LS2Power?

Recommended Posts

I just bought a pair of LS2P's for my One95's. I'm wondering if my current rivet pattern on the One95 LS2.1's Size 272 will be the same as the LS2P's Size 272. I want to have them mounted but worry that they will have to elongate the holes. I don't want that because the last time I had that done it was a mess and the blades kept moving around because of the hack that did it. I love these skates and don't want to destroy them.

(BTW, that was a Lightspeed converted to a Lightspeed 2 Power = 272)

The whole reason for the conversion is because I got a smoking deal on Step Steel blades and holders with 3 sets of steel and a combination 7' 13' radius on the Steps.

I hope this all makes sense.

I thought the new LSP holders fit the power and regular runner.

nope, the new LSP2.1 power runner fits the regular holder. the 2.1 steel doesn't have the same measurements as the older LSP

From what I'm seeing and if anyone wants to elaborate a bit more. The LS2Power runners are actually a bit longer on the area of the steel that mounts the blade to the holder. I can still get them in and everything feels fine it's just that the blade isn't locked in quite as tightly and that is why I wanted to just switch out the holder. I took measurements on the holders and I can only see about .020" difference from the front of the holder to the back. They are really close in size.

I often wonder why Tuuk did this crap to us. It's really hard to follow.

It probably has to do with balance or moreso durability. If you change the length its not a completely illogical idea to have to change the mounts. Im confident the R&D guys knew what they were doing.

I had a dude from my teams skates at my place for a sharpening so I decided to pull his steel (LS2 280) and compare to mine (LS2P 280). I wish I would have taken a pic but you are correct (JR has confirmed in other threads) they are 3mm or different. If you line up the rear of the steel everything is the same until you get to the "shark fin". The LS2P "shark fin" is further from the back of the blade.
