Torn Eyelet

Recommended Posts

My tried and true z-air's have a ripped top eyelet that has gone all the way through the material. I'm bringing them into a shoe repair shop, but am curious as to what the success of this process will be.

Has anyone had this done before? And if so, how was the durability in the new eyelet?

I had the same issue on my supreme 70's, and the shoe repair did the trick, but make sure they put in a strong eye-lit (I mean the metal part)

A search would probably turn up more on this.

That said, I've had the same thing happen to me and I too went to a shoe repair shop. Luckily, I was already in the market for new skates as it was, because I wasn't too confident that the repair would hold up.

While it's probably your best option, if you went through your eye-lit in the first place, you'll likely go right through the repair as well before long.

I've had the same thing happen to me on a pair of the original Vapor 6's back in the day. I took them to a local shoe repair shop and they did an absolutely fantastic job....That eyelit was stronger than the rest on both skates. A knowledgable cobbler or shoe repair shop should be able to do the trick rather cheap and pretty quick
