graf fitting?

Recommended Posts

i was reading about how graf has a skate for every kind of foot. but how exactly do you know if you have a narrow heel, high arch etc? obviously you can measure the length and width but how do they get the other stuff?

You can look at this for starters ...

http://www.grafcanada.com/science/every_foot.pdf

Also, do a search here - there have been tons of posts on Graf fitting, i.e. high arch, narrow heel. If you're interested in buying Grafs, find a

LHS that has a lot of inventory in and around your size and try them on.

Forgot another thought ... post a few pics of your foot here. The fitting experts here can usually tell by looking what kinds of Grafs you would need.

actually, i already do have graf 704. i got them 7 years ago and dont remember getting any kind of special measurements. they felt good and my size was 8 was about all we did. they were my 2nd pair of skates so i was not at the same level i am now. anyway, i read all those threads and was just curious how they measure an arch or instep etc. i think i have a high arch because my 704s were always a little tight on top.

just out of interest, my feet look pretty similar to what graf describe as "regular depth and wide" and i currently wear 9.5EE vapor 40's but i reckon i could probably do with a 10 and find them a little on the shallow side! what graf skates should i be looking at? that pdf didnt explain much :P

it is not the most specific diagram by any means. thats why i started this thread. i was wondering what determined a shallow heel? medium arch or high arch? seems kind of hard to measure.

If you find them shallow then moving up a size is not the right move. You're just adding length when there's no need. A better skate would be a smarter choice. Try the Supreme One95s, they are a deeper cut or another skate with more volume.

If you're length is a 9.5, then moving up a half size would add more problems.

sorry was being a bit unclear, my situation is that the length is fine but i could probably do with a 10EE for a little bit extra width AND i could probably do with a fractionally deeper skate. as it stands, i couldnt go any narrowers or shallower, they do fit.. just, and this is the limit methinks!

no one got any idea which graf skate is suited to "regular depth and wide"? although i dont know how deep graf skates are in comparison to the 40's so i might need a deeper boot <_<
