Here in BC most junior tryouts dont start till the middle to end of august and minor hockey usually starts at the start of september.

Yeah it's the same here. I guess they do things a bit different in the states.

Around here they were all done long before that. It really doesn't make sense to do tryouts six months before the season starts, but that's how they always do it around here.

I have no idea why we do it either, because we don't have any mandatory practices or really any practices over the summer. I remember a few years ago we had them at the beginning/middle of august. I think they may be so early for the scheduler so they can try to put together many preseason games and tournaments. It also gives plenty of time for the organization or whoever to order jerseys if needed and to order warm-ups.

Eh...Had tryouts at the beginning of this month. Didn't make the team I'd have hoped, but I always have next year.

My tryouts start tomorrow. Not really nervous about them or anything, Ive played on this team the past 4 years of my life.

My tryouts are the first week of September. I'm nervous, and I expect that feeling to grow as I approach the day of the tryouts. The coach said I have a good chance of making the team, so we'll see how it goes. I plan on going to pick up because I haven't played in about 3 weeks.

My tryouts were last week of April , our hole team was set going into tryouts expect for 2 player

i made it with ease being the only 3 year veteran left on the team
