Glove opinions needed- Mission M1 Pro or RBK 5k?

Recommended Posts

I currently have a pair of red, white and blue M1 Pro gloves that are about 1 year old. But my team wears black and dark green. So I look like a mess with these mismatched colors. I was thinking of trading in my Missions for a pair of black gloves and I found RBK 5Ks at the local LHS.

I searched but didn't find a whole lot of info on the 5K. Anyone have a thought on them? Would I be taking a big step down in quality if I switched?

The M1 pro was top of the line at the time. The 5k is a mid range glove.

M1=roomier more traditional fit plus high level protection. 5k=tighter but lighter weight and IMO a bit less protection.

I had the 5k's and sold them. Still have the M1 pros.

How durable would that spray paint job be? If I had confidence that (a) the gloves would look decent, and ( b ) the paint job would last for awhile, I'd give it a shot!

Well, this "trade in" was going to happen at the local Play it again sports. I went there about an hour ago and the guy basically offered my $10 for my 1 year old, still in great shape, M1 Pros. I politely told him no while giving him the "are you crazy?" look.

So now I am contemplating either living with the mismatched colors for the upcoming season or trying to paint/dye the gloves.

hahahhaha sorry you expected PIAG to give you money for your gloves man.

i gave them my 1 season used Flexlite 12s the year after they came out... they gave me $45 for them, i went in the next week and they were being sold for $200... they rip you off, but they get it off your hands (no pum intended).

Sell the M-1's on Ebay , you'll likley get significantly more money if they are in good shape. Then buy the gloves of your choice.
