He has been wearing those for the past 2 seasons. The Koho logo on the gear is new, previously they were just unbranded. GoalieMonkey has a deal with Lefebvre to design a Koho branded "hybrid" pad like the old 580/590s.

The 700 series released last year, and I hear they are coming out with a new pad for 2009.

You can also get a Koho 580/590 clone through Viper Hockey; it's not listed on the website currently, but I believe it's called the King Cobra. Of course, you can get damn near anything from that guy...

The GM Kohos are not, unfortunately, as close to the original design or anywhere near as well-made. The warranty is a remarkable feature, however.

While at the LHS the other day we found a Ref Sweater type thing, that was actually kept you warm. I'd definitely wear something like that to a game as opposed to a hoodie.
