Nike Flexlite 12 replacement

Recommended Posts

He means that the materials in the 12 are generally better than in the 18 (aka 10). The tongue is a bit better 12, and it's a more durable Clarino liner instead of the Grip liner on the 18. There are a few other things JR would be able to explain better.

thats what i thought i was just confused i guess because if its made with better stuff shouldnt it be a better skate then the 18s? the only reason i ask is because i can get the 12s for 99 bucks..or the 18s from eastwest for like 300 something...

if the 12's fit go with them over the 18, even if it was an even price.

If you order the 12's through the custom program, can you get them stiffer than retail? I loved the feel of my 10's, but they were way too mushy.

How close are the new Nexus 1000's to the old Nike V12's? The V12's were my favorite skates, and it's getting to be time to replace my One95's. I really like the One95's I have, especially the weight and how close they mold to my foot. But, they are still a tiny bit narrow in the toe box, even in a EE width, and I don't think the protection is as good in them. While they are a rigid shell, it seems like shots to the foot hurt more than in the V12's.

So I'm debating between the NXG's and Nexus 1000's. Is Bauer's stated difference in performance profiles, ie acceleration vs power, really accurate or is it just marketing hype? I would consider myself to be more of a power skater - long, strong strides instead of fast, short ones. So if they really do perform differently, I think I'll have to stay in the Supreme line. And, my skating has been better and stronger while I have had these skates, but that may be due more to camps, instruction, and improvements in my technique than the skates. I also tend to think the flex in the boot of the Nexus will lead to a loss of energy transfer and less efficiency meaning slower strides. . But they are probably more comfortable for me, especially if they will fit like the V12's. Note: I did not like the way the recent Flexlite 4's fit or felt, if they are similar to the Nexus.

Thanks!
