CCM Vector 10 and Easton S9 Elbow Pads

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, first post. I tried the search but could not come up with any information.

I was curious about personal experiences of the CCM Vector 10 elbow pads and the Easton S9s. No body around me carries them but they can order them in for me but I would have to buy. I am currently wearing a Vector 6.0 elbow pad in a medium if that helps.

Thanks!

I thought the v10 was a little bulky. I liked the v08 though, they're virtually the same. The S9 is also a great elbow... I think I'd rather have the v08 though, but thats just my opinion.

Just as a reference, I was a L in the old vector elbows. But a M in the new(I'm on the border) and a L in the S9.

I've got the S9, and they are so far really good. Dont slide down the arms, and provide quite a lot of protection.

They are a little on the bulky side, but so far no problems with mobility.

I'd put them in order v08/S9/v10.

I thought the S17 was the same as the S9 but it felt bulkier than I remember the S9 being. The strapping setup on the CCMs is nicer, in my opinion.

For my money I'd get the Vector 10's. It's simply a better and more protective elbow pad. It covers more area than the S-9 or S17 and doesn't slip at all. I'm being very impartial because I like Easton equipment very much but I wasn't impressed with their elbow pads. I returned my S-9's and ended up with the Vectors and I'm not sorry I did.

I've been using the S-9's for a year or so. They are the best elbows I have ever worn. I used to wear Jofa's and older Bauers. The 3 piece design is extremely mobile. There was very little break in and consider how light and mobile they are they protect very well. You can't go wrong with these pads. I haven't tried the vector 8's, but the S9's are definitely better than the V10's IMO.

Long time jofa elbow pad user but used Vector 10's for the last year. I love them. They do not move at all. I don't mind the bulk. I think the whole cam lock cinching system is genius. I also didn't cut the "wrist guards" off. I left them attached because they're just one more damn thing to get lost at the bottom of the bag. I can't believe they've managed to stay attached after a year's worth of abuse. Anywho, great pad, great protection, very durable. Mine still look new.

Sorry, I was referring to the current V10; the 3 piece elbow pad.

I had the shop order an S9 for me. I figure there is less to break and wear down with that pad. ie: the stretch zones, EPP foam and neoprene harness on the V10. I was never able to fully get used to those 2 piece elbow pads, they just didn't seem very ergonomic to me. Thank you all for the input
